About me: This comes with a heavy heart. I spent many years on this land in Oregon growing up with my family. My Father who past away in 1990 who was a War hero, 30 years in the military and he fought in 4 wars. My dear mother who was a wonderful woman and my grandmother who made life wonderful. I always visited on holidays and always kept in close contact with my family over the years. I came back to Oregon at my mother’s request during the extreme fires of 2002 and could see she needed help. My mother ask me to stay and help her. I did without a second thought. I took care of my mother for 10 months, providing her with loving care, which enhance her spirits, herself esteem and her loving care for me. I provided her with all of the available help provided to a military spouse and extensive medical care and therapy and in home health care aid. I knew the system and how it worked and I worked to insure my mother received all the care and benefits due a military spouse and their children. She was the happiest and most content woman I had ever seen in years. I spent 24/7 with her and provided her with the ability to see her life in a new way. She way happy I was here. My mother was happy and loved life, but the courts were involved, which meant that an unscrupulous guardian took over, a conservatior and lawyers fees. My mother was put in a home when she was at her best both mentally and physically. We were striped of our VA monies and all of the social security and military retirement which went to poorly managed nursing homes. All of this done against my mother wishes. I filed motion after motion to get her released to our home again, but fighting against judges who hold a strong bias and prejudice and are only concerned about the money, the property is now on the market to pay and addition $100,000.00 in fee’s from lawyers and guardians and conservators. We were broke. I am financially strapped. May 5th 2003 a guardian put my mother in a home and once she realized she was never going home again she gave up. It took 16 months of suffering and painful enduring on my mothers part and myself. She was taken to a different Doctor who was just out of his residency at Reading hospital in California and had just been in business for 4 years. His knowledge of my mothers condition was less that what was required, especially when I had her going to a top specialist who help provide all the necessary help to improve her overall health to a point in time by her original Doctor stating late in April of 2003 “she’s doing so well she need not come back for 90 days”, less than 2 weeks later she found herself in a home. Poor treatment and care left her condition deteriorating as the guardian run up exorbitant billing statements ( more than her $100.00 per month plus mileage which she agreed to) and fianlly they decided to just let her die as did Terry Schivo. The only difference my mother was in perfect health at the age of 79. My dear mother had at least another decade left to live and maybe longer. She was surrounded by people who loved her and she went everywhere with me and enjoyed the companionships and my friends which increased her plearuse for living Now we have a $35,000.00 statement the courts want me to sign as and unverified document. $20,000.00 in Medicaid fee’s which should not exist as I made sure my mother had full military insurance (Tri-Care Prime for LIfe) which covered her 100% for 1% cost and now the land is forced upon the market for sale to cover these fee’s as the courts don’t care, they are only inertested in the money. They have already taken over $100,000.00 from us over the 16month period she was in 2 nursing homes where she was hospitalized and fell numerous times injuring herself which at on point caused her to spend a week in intensive care at a local hospital. This this an outrage and an injustice to destroy lives and life over money considering they’ve received an extensive amount of money already. but it’s just not enough. I need the support to negotiate the fee’s downward and see the land back in the name of the one and only heir as designated in her wills myself John Watts Jr. I have struggled with public assistance to survive with some help from my very good friend of 5 years. I receive food stamps, Oregon Health plan Insurance and energy assistance and very little money; maybe $30.00 a month on average. My friend does try and pay some partial bills just enough to keep us above water. Your help is request and in dire need to bring the land back to me the proper owner and to provide the help to others with disabilities for themselves and that’s our goals to achieve this for others and ourselves with your help and support. This land is a landmark lived on by Indians and traveled by pioneers, Indians and miners alike I am 53 years old and can try my hardest to make this happen. My experience for running a business and achieving goals has not changed. This is a real life dilemma which is a good cause to support and should be entitled to grants to help make this happen for the betterment of all. Please find it in your hearts to feel my pain as I still feel the sadness of the loss of my mother still today and the disruption of life and love and plans which would have remolded this home, provided another home through military VA and US agricultural grants. The treatment by the courts and their representative is incomprehensible and should be brought to light for the underhanded scheme that it really is, And it continues to happen and has happen to many seniors. Even with my help we were wiped out financially and morally as our personal cost and the death of my mother and the lack of concern by the legal sytem in Oregon and all those who provide services, no matter how ineffcieit they may be, they still get paid, and one can do very little about it, but with your help that can all change. Please consider this request thoroughly and give it your utmost consideration. Myself and my friend are good upstanding natural born citizens of this Great Country and this is where the difference of our Democracy and justice can make a difference. Can you please help? We just want to make it right and help others who deserve to enjoy the great outdoors with dignity and respect.
With all due respect and appreciation Deep Regards;
My name is John Watts. I am in need of financial support to protect the land handed down to me by my dear Mother who passed away in September of 2004. I have inherited 40 acres that has been in the family for 45 years and is the last section of the original homestead of 1860. The property rights go as far back as 1890. I have a disability called Cervical Dystonia, but in 5 years have received no money to assist me in maintaining the home which is nearly 70 years old and has not been remolded in over 25 years. I am in dire need of support both financially and construction support, due to the miscalculated Protective laws of this state (Oregon) for Seniors and their off-springs. I have a very good friend that lives on the land with me in a trailer who helps as best he can, but he to is disabled with diabetes and progress is slow, but we have a goal for the land. We would like to provide others with disabilities to enjoy the beauty of the country and all it has to offer. The wild life, the biology and botanicals and the tranquil and peaceful setting of the land. The land itself offers enormous potential and has remained untouched for many years. The land itself has natural mountain spring water, used for all house needs, creeks and an area for a large lake, and a beach that would provide fishing and outdoor fun for those who have never experienced such beauty, for all seasons of the year. The property itself is surrounded by National forest and hiking, horseback riding, and domestic animals, such as horses, ponies and the like would be a perfect fit for all to enjoy. We, my friend and I would like to have 2 homes built and 5 or 6 cabins to be used through out the year by those with disabilities in conjunction with the “Make a Wish foundation”, and Pediatric Aids, 2 organizations that touch our hearts. In addition we would like to remodel the home that has been here for 70 years, fence in the entire land, produce solar and a water electricl generating plant and solor energy and provide domestic animals for children and others to enjoy. We would like to have built an agricultural growing house to provide white truffles and Shitake mushrooms in the fall and winter and Saffron in the spring and summer and have all of those enjoy that experience as well. All of this would be of minimal impact to the land and would enhance the beauty of the natural land itself. A wonderland of natural experience. I myself have a tremendous amount of experience in business and my friend has an extensive knowledge of land management and agricultural know how and mechanical knowledge. We both have had extensive experience with animals of all kinds. This land is the final frontier to keep it from subdividing and building homes and destroying the natural beauty which has taken years and years to develop in an area called Selma, which is a very small community in the wilderness which is starting to grow by leaps and bounds. We need your help for a good cause and wish to give back as much as we can. Life her is difficult and getting tougher all the time but we intend to make the sacrifice and have done so for the last 3 years. We are Sincerely asking for your help and desperately need it and with great appreciation could show you (see attachment) the magnificence of the beauty of nature in all it’s natural glory. This is an opportunity for us all and should not be left behind. I would be more than glad to provide highly detain information about the project and i’s course of action when requested. In addition this would provide employment in this area where it is needed most, as Selma is located 20 miles from a larger town and 10 miles from a small town which provides little benefit. In addition we would like to provide a recording studio to provide the talent in this area a place to develop their talent and an additional adventure for the disabled children and adults to enjoy.
